There seems to be a logical fallacy lurking here that they somehow are. Either the collective afterlife but not a personal afterlife or vice versa. I simply don't see this. As a (real) afterlife researcher (currently working on an extensive annotated bibliography on the subject), I find plenty of valid evidence that, in fact, we do survive our deaths.
