It's similar to straight people supporting the criminalization of gay sex and/or same-sex marriage even though they themselves are never actually going to be negatively affected by this.Coyotehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01184822261811827197noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1780806945960886534.post-24572251712154800462021-04-02T02:59:56.105+01:002021-04-02T02:59:56.105+01:00"The person who thinks that games involving v..."The person who thinks that games involving virtual rape are a “bit of a laugh” is different from the person who actively enjoys those kinds of representation, who seeks them out, and seems to derive some (sexual) pleasure from them."<br /><br />You neglect to mention the fact that people don't actually choose what they're attracted to. If one is sexually attracted to the idea of raping someone, then one can no more cure this than one can cure either homosexuality or heterosexuality--at least not without castration, which will shut down one's sex drive altogether and likely permanently eliminate one's sex life. Indeed, one could acknowledge that one's sexual urges are wrong while still acknowledging that they are incurable and still believing that one is--like everyone else--entitled to a decent, satisfactory sex life insofar as this can indeed be done without actually harming anyone else.<br /><br />There's also another factor to consider here: Is it morally wrong for someone who is sexually attracted to the idea of raping someone to seek out consenting adult sexual partners who are going to be willing to engage in rape fantasy role-playing (with a "safe word" and everything) together with them, with them themselves playing the part/role of the rapist? If it is indeed morally wrong, should this also be legally wrong? As in, should consenting adults get arrested for facilitating and/or engaging in rape fantasy role-playing? After all, one could argue that engaging in rape fantasy role-playing and especially role-playing the part of the rapist and actually enjoying it would indicate a problematic moral character on the part of the person who is doing this.Coyotehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01184822261811827197noreply@blogger.com
