It belongs to a broad genre of "Mortality Sycophancy" which seeks, metaphorically speaking, to pander in the earshot of Master Death's deaf ears and the gaze of His hollow eyesockets, and to peddle death to its victims. There is a cause why this genre exists, which Aubrey De Grey has summed up nicely (in my view) under the heading of "Pro-Aging Trance", essentially Stockholm Syndrom - if we can't help it, we might as well learn to "accept it" (certainly a common theme in contemporary culture, where the crab-bucket drive to shame people for not "accepting" the signs of aging and refusing to "age gracefully" by getting plastic surgery is at least as strong as the drive to shame people FOR visibly aging - but the need to foist the virtue of acceptance upon people is strong in our culture in other areas too). But the point is that while there is a cause, there is no reason - no rational cogitation arrives at the conclusion that aging is a bonum, just as there is no significant strand (in literature or philosophy, anyway - on Facebook there might be) advocating for the return of the endemic infectious diseases prior to vaccination. So, people who seek a justification and legitimation for what they, in their heart of hearts, believe to be an insoluble human tragedy grasp at straws in the dark and build non-convincing arguments out of them.
