Index for posts on The Non-Existence of God

Nicholas Everitt's book, The Non-Existence of God, is one of the best introductions to the philosophy of religion. As can be guessed from the title it is written from an atheistic perspective. This is a perspective I share, and since I enjoyed his book so much, I thought it would be worthwhile summarising the main points in each chapter. Adding commentary and examples of my own along the way.

Everitt's book is comprehensive and introductory: it covers every major argument for the existence of god (including arguments that were developed in the late 20th century), but it does so in a fairly perspicuous and welcoming manner. It is not a laborious and exhaustive treatment of the topic. If you wish to be exhausted, you will have to go elsewhere.
